Breckenridge Colorado Winter Elopement
The best part about planning a winter elopement (or any elopement) in Colorado? Months and months of planning out the details isn’t a requirement! Toni and Scott reached out to me just over a month out from their planned elopement date and after we planned a location, all that was left to do was for them to show up and say “i do”!
Although it may not look like it, their elopement actually took place the second week of October (crazy, right?!). I highly recommend checking out my list of what to pack for your elopement, which includes reminders to bring helpful items like underlayers and jackets! Any time of year in the mountains can bring unpredictable weather and coming well prepared will help your experience be comfortable no matter the conditions.
Story of Their Winter Elopement in Colorado
When I initially talked to them, Toni mentioned that she loved the idea of being surrounded by snow-capped mountains and breathtaking scenery that they just can’t get in Ohio… I think mother nature got the memo about the snow! We met up at a location just out of Breckenridge and I had them join me in my car for the trek up the mountain road to their elopement spot. In an area that is normally pretty trafficked, we had it almost to ourselves, and (although cold) it was out of this world beautiful and right out of a winter wonderland.
They exchanged vows with one another as the snow fell around them and then, in between warm-up breaks in the car, we explored the area and took beautiful photos of the two of them in the snow-covered landscape. I couldn’t believe how much it ended up snowing during our short time together but we all had such a blast and it was well-worth all of the shivers.
