Alissa and Cody’s Elopement in Breckenridge, Colorado

Alissa and Cody’s Breckenridge, Colorado Elopement

Loveland Pass First Look | Breckenridge Colorado Elopement

Alissa and Cody’s Breckenridge Colorado elopement day began at sunrise just outside of town at Loveland Pass.

Alissa and Cody began their Breckenridge, Colorado elopement day at sunrise just outside of town at Loveland Pass. When I was helping Alissa and Cody plan their Colorado elopement day, we were instantly drawn to the beautiful views that Loveland Pass had for their first look. It’s crazy that this epic spot is located just 40 minutes from Breckenridge and that these fantastic views were accessible right from the parking area!

Their family stayed back at the hotel to finish getting ready so that the two of them could share an intimate moment and get beautiful photos as the sun came up above the mountains. If you’re thinking of having your family join your Colorado elopement day – it’s definitely worth considering a day with a morning ceremony that starts with a sunrise first look! Although setting an early alarm can feel a bit daunting, you can’t beat the intimacy of sunrise and the lower crowds that it brings, especially in more popular locations in Colorado.

At the beginning of the planning process, I almost always get asked how first looks are able to happen on elopement days. For this first look, Cody was a total trooper and rode in the car with a blindfold on with Alissa in the front seat to make that first moment of seeing her all the more special. It was so meaningful to capture this moment and I loved stepping back and letting them have the moment of seeing each other, embracing, and taking in the beautiful scenery together.

The morning air was chilly, to say the least (which is to be expected on a summer morning in the mountains), but we were so thankful that the smoke from the wildfires nearby cleared enough for them to have such amazing views of the rocky mountains.

Sapphire Point Ceremony | Breckenridge Colorado Elopement

After their first look, we continued their Breckenridge Colorado elopement day by meeting their family for a ceremony at Sapphire Point. The weather was perfect and despite the smoke that was beginning to become more visible again, they had beautiful views of the mountains and lake at their elopement ceremony spot. Capturing their family’s joy and happiness while they watched Alissa and Cody say “I do” meant so much. I thought it was amazing that they had their best friends officiate their ceremony and it made it all the more special to have that close connection and perspective on their relationship.
