Giant Springs State Park, Great Falls, Montana Proposal and Engagement Photos

When Lane messaged me several weeks ago asking if I could arrange a session for him and Cindy (disguised as me needing them to model for me) so that he could propose – I was over the moon. It’s always so special to me to help someone propose to the person they love!

These two were some of my first clients as a photographer – I still remember doing Christmas cards for them with their sweet dog, Juniper, here in Great Falls a couple of years back. We’ve worked together quite a few times since then, so it wasn’t too hard to use the changing season as an excuse to use them as models one more time!

It was a chilly day here in Great Falls, to say the least, with temperatures around 15 degrees and quite a bit of snow on the ground from a couple of winter storms the week before. But the sun was shining beautifully and the snow was the perfect powder consistency – truly no better winter day for a proposal, in my books!

For the session – Lane and I orchestrated a code-word (or code-pose I should call it) during the as a signal for when I was all good to go for him to pop the question.

Right as he knelt, a breeze blew some snow off of the trees and it looked beyond magical through the golden light. He then asked Cindy to marry him and she said yes!

It was such a heartwarming proposal to witness and I was even more thrilled to capture the moment since I’ve worked with them for so long! After the proposal and lots of hugs & kisses, they sat down for some hot cocoa to warm up a little before we decided that our fingers had reached their breaking point in the cold!
